McCreedy Building | Since 1938

At the end of the Great Depression, Dr. C. O. McCreedy supervised and funded the construction of his new offices on College Avenue. Since there would be no hospital in Aledo for another decade, the McCreedy Building served as the modern medical facility of Mercer County. One side of the main level housed the doctor’s office, waiting room, operating and x-ray rooms, and two treatment rooms. Dr. McCreedy rented out the other side for retail and equipped the upper level with offices. The building and Dr. McCreedy’s efforts were welcomed by the city as “setting the pace” for new construction and economic development.

Today, the upstairs offices have been newly renovated into four modern apartments. Both the apartments and the main floor retail spaces are available for rent.
